Paus Review

What better way to spend a day than at your favourite wellness spot?

For the past few months Paus; café has been on my radar and is a place I frequently visit. They are a studio combined as a cafe promoting all things related to wellness. The concept piqued my interest greatly and I also wrote about them when I was writing for Harper’s Bazaar Arabia (Click here for the article).

A few days ago I along with the our fashion editor Yasi Ayati had lunch at Paus and here’s how it went:

The menu can be easily accessed via scanning a QR code on your table. Quickly your phone lights up with numerous dishes and drinks to select from. Overwhelmed with the choices presented Yasi and I knew coffees were going to be a necessity whilst perusing the array of choices at the cafe. The coffees came quickly and each sip provided us with an energetic warmth making us want to savour them for as long as possible.

After a few more minutes we eventually settled on three dishes with help from our lovely waitress. The dishes were: Zucchini Dip, Sweet Chilli Shakshuka and a Lentil Salad making sure each option was gluten free for Yasi.

The Zucchini Dip was incredibly fresh and combined with their delectable gluten free bread made for a hearty meal. However, as the flavours were so enjoyable it could even be consumed without the side of bread. You’ll be left wanting to throw table manners out the window ready to grab a spoon and pull the bowl in front of you. However Yasi and I both managed to refrain from doing so as there were still two more dishes to try!

The Sweet Chilli Shakshuka was absolutely divine! The sweet chilli sauce came separately in a jug for you to add as much as you desire. A touch I greatly appreciated as I can’t handle a lot of spice but I do appreciate the burst of flavour it can provide. The dish was accompanied by more gluten free bread to ensure not a drop is left behind.

Lastly was the Chunky Lentil Salad, the perfect digestif to end the meal with. The salad came lightly dressed in a tahini balsamic vinaigrette enough to add a slight tang without taking away from the lovely taste of roasted carrots, red swiss chard and du puy lentils.

Of course I couldn’t leave without trying one of their matcha latte’s and no surprise it was delicious!

Recently, the team were kind enough to send over images of their space. From their elegantly designed studios to their gorgeous cafe there’s a variety of activities to do at Paus;.

The next thing on my list to try is one of their classes. One can select from sound healing classes, hip hop yoga and a plethora more of options making fitness fun. There’s also an array of treatments available such as back and neck massages, facials, light therapy and more. A space dedicated to helping your overall wellbeing where you’re guaranteed to leave with a glow from belly’s and soul satisfied!
